Scaling Sales

The plan to scale sales with pay per click.

POD Shoes, a big player in the footwear industry and part of the William Lamb Group, approached us with a clear objective, to increase their sales through a comprehensive and effective digital marketing strategy. The primary focus was to enhance sales for their entire product range by leveraging the power of Google Shopping Pay Per Click campaigns.

Our work with POD started due to prior work with the MD, Jane. We have worked with Jane in the past to drive sales to an innovative “measure feet at home” device, which was later sold to M&S as a result of our PPC campaigns.

Google Shopping

The strategy that we implemented for POD shoes.

For this campaign, Google Shopping and Performance Max (a type of Google campaign) were the right way to go. We needed to get POD’s shoes in front of as many people who were currently interested in purchasing shoes as possible.

Using performance max, we were able to take advantage of traffic sources all over the web,  like YouTube, Google Search Engine, Gmail and more. We then crafted compelling ad copy and incorporated high-quality product images, we ensured that POD Shoes’ ads stood out in the Google Shopping space.

Strategic bid management was deployed to maximise return on investment (ROI). We adjusted bids to capitalise on high-performing products and times of day, ensuring optimal budget utilisation.

Promotional Periods

Selling shoes in the "back to school" rush.

One of the biggest periods that POD wanted to focus on was the back-to-school period in July and August every year. During this period, we skyrocketed POD’s school shoe sales and drove unprecedented sales figures to the website through our Google Shopping campaigns.

By targeting specific keywords, search habits, and demographics, we were able to target people who had kids and were in the market for new school shoes.

The Results

The results of our Google Shopping campaign for POD Shoes were nothing short of remarkable. The campaign led to a staggering increase of over 149% in online sales, 136% increase in online orders, and a 104% increase in sessions.

We also managed to achieve a cost per conversion as low as £3.00 while running the campaign. This allowed for massive profit margins on all products sold through our Google Ad campaigns.
