We’ve worked closely with The COOPS Group for some time. They are a group of companies that deliver renewable energy services (COOPS Renewables), electrical services (COOPS EMBS), and low-voltage switchgear solutions (COOPS Switchgear).
They reached out when launching a new arm of the business, COOPS Switchgear. They needed a website to match their existing branding and clearly show the wide range of services they would be offering.
Because of the number of services, we needed a way to show them clearly and make sure the team could manage them without issue.
Our solution was a custom WordPress CMS. We set up custom post types and fields that allow the COOPS team to add, edit, and manage service pages easily. These fields populate the service pages automatically in a clear and consistent format.
This makes it easier for their team to update the site without breaking the design or layout.
One of the challenges in this project was the lack of image content. COOPS Switchgear didn’t have a media library to pull from and preferred not to rely too heavily on stock photography.
We approached this by designing a layout that didn’t depend on large image sections. Instead, we used strong typography, clear iconography, and well-structured content to build visual interest. The dark colour scheme and bold branding helped carry the design without needing imagery on every page.
This project shows that having limited visual content doesn’t mean you can’t build an effective website. With the right layout and structure, you can still present your services clearly and professionally.
The site’s dark design was chosen to match the brand style. Each COOPS division uses its own colour… blue for EMBS, green for Renewables, and black for Switchgear.
We followed the brand colours and fonts throughout the build. This gave the site a clear visual link to the wider COOPS Group and kept the style consistent across all pages.
