Their previous website was over 8 years old and definitely showing its age. From outdated images to a poor user experience, it was clear that a full overhaul was overdue.

They had also been struggling to add new content easily. When they first approached us, it was to help create a news post about recent charity work. It became clear during this conversation that the limitations of the current site were holding them back.

One of the biggest issues was how the website reflected the value of the brand. It didn’t convey the professionalism or quality of service that Advance Investments offers, especially given their work with high-net-worth individuals. A more polished and fitting online presence was essential.

After mentioning the idea of providing web design for Advance Investments, our managing director Otis, based in Bristol, visited Ben Cundy, managing director of Advance Investments, at their office in Bath.

During the meeting, Otis shared some early ideas and gathered Ben’s thoughts on the direction, style and functionality of the new site. This helped shape a clear plan for what the new website needed to achieve.

One area Ben was keen to improve was the imagery on the website. The photos on the old website were outdated and included staff members who were no longer part of the business.

Ben arranged for a professional photographer to visit their office and take updated headshots of the team for the about page, along with natural office shots to use on the site.

These new images were used across the website to give a more professional feel while adding the personal, approachable touch that Ben wanted to get across.

The final website turned out exactly how Ben wanted.

We bridged the gap between professionalism, high quality, and portraying a personal service that reflects the brand’s morals.

We also implemented a “bento box” style layout across the site. This is a modern UX design style that’s become increasingly popular over recent years and has helped bring a fresh, contemporary feel to the pages.

Lastly, we set up a news system that made it easy for the Advance Investments team to manage and update their own content with ease.
