Travel Project

The Maldives Travel Society

Maldives Travel Society

A cutting-edge website design for a Maldives travel company.

The Luxury Travel Society asked us to build a site specifically for their Maldives all-inclusive resorts. Read more about this project below.

About the Project

How this project came to light and why it was needed.

In September of 2024, we started working with Spencer Groves from The Luxury Travel Society. The Luxury Travel Society, or TLTS (as we’ll refer to them moving forward), specialises in the most exclusive luxury holidays you could imagine in places such as the Arabian Gulf, the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean, and much more.

Spencer, from TLTS, was looking for a new marketing agency to handle their pay per click campaigns, website hosting, and much more (we touch on these areas in other project posts). One area that Spencer was keen to focus on was moving all of the Maldives all-inclusive holidays to their own website. The reason for this was that the majority of the holidays on the original website were for other forms of holidays (more bespoke and tailored).

The new website had to be an easy-to-use hub for visitors looking to travel to the Maldives on an all-inclusive, set package. The website would need custom filtering, various custom fields and categories, and much more. Right from the initial conversation about the site, we could tell that we had a lot of work on our hands and we were very excited to take on such a large project.

Project Planning

How we worked with TLTS to plan for the new site.

Due to the number of different filtering options for each hotel, the planning for the new website had to be detailed. Otis and Luke had many discussions with Spencer to establish what was required for the site and what each hotel needed to display to potential customers.

After many long email threads and Zoom meetings, we finally had a solid plan that we were now ready to action. In the image below, you will see a screenshot of just a few of the different fields and elements that were required for each hotel on the website.

The Backend

How the site would work from the backend.

Having a reliable and easy-to-use CMS system was very important for this project. We opted for WordPress due to the need for custom filtering, post types, and more.

Within WordPress, we created a custom post type for the hotels and another for the offers. Within the hotels editing screen, we set up various custom fields and filtering options so that visitors could filter the hotels based on the options selected in the backend.

Some of the fields we integrated into the site ranged from a primary gallery, whether the company had visited the hotel themselves (to show a badge on the front end), board options, transfer types, and more. Below you can see a screenshot of how the backend looks for admins.

The Finished Site

The final result and what was needed afterwards.

After a few weeks of amending the content, style and various other elements of the website, we were ready to launch. This feature-rich website was now ready for us to run our pay per click campaigns and start generating new leads for Spencer and his team.
