From Startup to Marks & Spencer
PinPoint is a clever idea: a foot-measurement stylus for children, designed by footwear experts and tested by real families, that pairs with an iOS and Android app to measure a child's feet accurately at home. The product was brilliant. What the startup did not have was marketing expertise or an audience.
They came to us to launch it: build brand awareness, grow a social following from near zero, and drive qualified traffic and conversions among parents across the UK.
Building the Audience on Social
We ran daily content on Facebook and Instagram, using custom-designed templates that kept everything on brand. Starting from almost nothing, we grew their Instagram following by an extraordinary 2,232%, putting the product in front of exactly the parents it was made for.
PPC That Punched Above Its Weight
On Google Ads, we leaned into smart competitor keyword targeting, winning clicks for as little as £0.02 each with strong click-through rates and traffic that comfortably beat the initial forecasts.
| KPI | Figure |
| Cost Per Conversion | <£2.00 |
| Cost Per Click | £0.02 - £1.00 |
Before any of it went live, we also reviewed and optimised the website for conversion, so the traffic we sent actually turned into action.
The Outcome: Acquired by M&S
The campaign did more than hit its targets. On the back of its success, PinPoint was acquired by Marks & Spencer, with the product going on to feature on the M&S website. For a startup that began with no audience and no marketing, that is about as good as an outcome gets.
A Launch That Did Its Job
In just 90 days, PinPoint went from a near-invisible startup to a brand backed by one of the country's best-known retailers. The right launch, across the right channels, at the right cost.
We have been using CreateTheWeb to drive our online campaign and engage the public with a revolutionary new method for measuring children's feet. We realised early on that we simply did not have the necessary expertise to manage online marketing by ourselves. Luckily, Otis, Luke and the team have been fantastic, guiding us through the world of 'impressions' and 'click-throughs', homing in quickly on our key market demographic to deliver growth. An excellent service. I would recommend them!
