eCommerce Fulfilment Services
Multichannel Fulfilment (MCF) is the UK's leading award-winning fulfilment centre, providing ecommerce fulfilment services to large businesses nationwide.
Their client roster speaks for itself: The Range, Wilko, Silver Cross.
These are brands with complex logistics requirements, high volumes, and a genuine need for a fulfilment partner that can perform at scale.
MCF had the operation, the expertise, and the client base to prove it. What they lacked, when they first approached CreateTheWeb, was the online visibility to match.

The SEO Journey
MCF came to us after a disappointing experience with a previous SEO agency.
Rankings had stagnated, results had been overpromised and underdelivered, and the business was effectively invisible for the searches that mattered most.
Difficult Keywords to Rank
The targets were clear and challenging in equal measure.
MCF wanted to rank on page one for "ecommerce fulfilment" and "fulfilment centre" - two of the most competitive terms in their sector.
To illustrate the commercial weight of these keywords, the cost per click for "ecommerce fulfilment" sits at £9.77.
Anyone searching these terms is a serious buyer with plenty of intent, and ranking well for them is big commercial value.
When we took on the account, MCF was positioned 99 or beyond for both terms.
For a business of their standing, that gap between offline reputation and online visibility was costing them.
We built and executed an SEO strategy focused on technical foundations, targeted content, and the kind of sustained, methodical link-building and optimisation work that moves competitive rankings.
From position 99 to position 2 in Google
MCF now ranks at position 2 for "ecommerce fulfilment" and position 4 for "fulfilment centre" - both on page one, both driving high-intent traffic.
Beyond the headline terms, more than 100 additional keywords now rank in position 1, and Monthly enquiries have tripled.
The SEO work had done what it set out to do, but the question that followed was whether the website they were landing on was doing justice to the traffic we had worked hard to send.

Their New React & Next.js Website
MCF's existing WordPress website had served its purpose, but it had not kept pace with the business.
The copy was generic and did not reflect the authority and market position MCF had earned.
And, critically, it was slow, taking around 10 seconds to load, which is a serious problem by any measure.
Page speed is a confirmed ranking factor for Google. A slow site can limit how far search rankings climb, regardless of how pretty your website is.

We had built MCF's strong organic visibility, but the site they were landing on was undermining it.
Good traffic was arriving and finding a slow, dated experience that did not reflect the operation behind it.
A business that fulfils for The Range and Wilko deserves a web presence. One fit for purpose for back-to-back fulfilment award winners.
A Platform Built for Performance
We rebuilt the MCF website from the ground up.
Out went WordPress. In came a modern React and Next.js architecture with a headless CMS backend — a technical stack chosen for exceptional performance without sacrificing the flexibility the MCF team needs.
The result was immediate and measurable.
Load time dropped from around 10 seconds to under one second, changing the experience for every clicker and scroller.
The visual and UX overhaul was also significant.
The new site is clean, modern, and built around how MCF's prospective clients actually think and aids the customer's purchase journey.

The structure makes it easy to understand what MCF does and what the next step is. For a business pitching to enterprise-level brands, first impressions matter.
The headless CMS setup deserves particular mention. One of the frustrations with traditional WordPress setups is that giving the content team control often comes at a performance cost.
Plugins, themes, and a bloated backend slow the front end.
Professional Content Writing Across the Site
A fast, well-designed website with weak copy is still a website that does not convert. Content was a central part of the rebuild, not an afterthought.
We did not port across the old copy and call it done.
We rewrote the site from scratch, with three things in mind:
- Reflect MCF's genuine authority in the fulfilment industry
- Target the right keywords to support and extend the SEO work
- Speak clearly to the client MCF works with
Writing for a business at the level of MCF demands a different approach to generic service-page copy.

The messaging needs to show expertise and give serious buyers a reason to pick up the phone.
There is also a direct SEO benefit.
Well-written, properly structured on-page content gives the technical SEO work a stronger foundation to build on.
Keyword targeting, heading structure, and semantic relevance - all on-page signals that contribute to how Google reads and ranks a page.
By combining professional copywriting with the technical rebuild, every element of the new site is pulling together.
A headless architecture separates content management from the front-end. The MCF team can now freely add and update content. The site delivers it at full speed every time.
A Long-Term Partnership
CreateTheWeb saw what was working and addressed all setbacks quickly.
MCF trusted us with their search rankings.
When they saw the results, they trusted us to rebuild their entire web platform and rewrite their content.
That kind of trust is earned through consistency and honesty - and it leads to results that no single-service package could achieve.
